George Prudence of 1st King's Royal Rifle Corps died of wounds on 7th August, 1916 having been evacuated back to England. 1st King's Royal Rifle Corps were part of 99 Brigade, 2nd Division which at the end of July had been involved in some heavy fighting in Delville Wood on the Somme and it is likely that this is when he was wounded. |
